Mark
Armstrong
Mark
Armstrong is a permanent firefighter from
the Dracut, Massachusetts Fire Department. A member of the Massachusetts
Firefighting Academy staff, Mark serves in several roles. As Assistant
Coordinator of the Fire Prevention/Investigation Programs Office, he coordinates
and helps teach the Public Fire Education Programs.
As
an instructor, he works with new recruits in their quest to become
permanent firefighters. He also instructs firefighters during many of the
academy’s live fire training sessions.
In
the role of Certification Examiner, he tests the practical skills
of firefighters seeking the nationally recognized Firefighter I/II and
Fire Instructor I certification levels. Mark is an adjunct faculty member
at Middlesex Community College in Massachusetts. There he teaches Fire
Protection Systems and Equipment and Introduction to Fire Prevention in
the Fire Protection & Safety Technology degree program.
Mark
holds national certifications as a Firefighter I/II, Fire Instructor
I, Fire Officer II, Fire Inspector II, and Emergency Medical Dispatcher.
He is a Massachusetts-certified EMT. Mark is a graduate of the University
of Massachusetts – Lowell and Middlesex Community College. As a member
of the Massachusetts Fire & Life Safety Task Force, he is collaborating
with other highly regarded fire professionals on a nationally recognized
Public Fire and Life Safety Educator certification level.
The
